a true love story...

Documenting Emmi + Jamesen's wedding day was truly like watching a movie. The love between these two is something everyone dreams of. Emmi and Jamesen are truly some of the most genuine people i've had the pleasure of working with. They are both creative, stick to who they are, have so much love for each other and everyone that is in their life..and it showed all day. Their day started off getting ready with their closest family and friends at the beautiful Shinola Hotel in downtown Detroit.

After they got ready, we headed to the Scarab Club in Detroit. This is such a beautiful, unique venue. The Scarab Club is an artists' club, gallery and studio. And outside of it is a stunning garden- where the intimate ceremony was held. Their ceremony was filled with their closest family and friends, and they started off their ceremony by reading their love story to their guests. I truly was emotional watching and listening to them talk about their love.

After their dreamy ceremony, we took family photos and bridal party photos. We stuck around at the Scarab Club. We took photos in the romantic garden area, and just around the building itself. The whole setting was just perfect for their day. I love giving my couples some time for just the two of them, to just take in their whole day. Sometimes things can happen so fast..and it's so nice to slow down for a minute and just be with each other.

Let's talk about this reception. The details, the color. It all turned out STUNNING! And of course, so much of it was designed by the bride herself. So many couples steer away from color on their wedding day..but Emmi and Jamesen did not, and i'm so glad they did not lol. The way the colors from the florals tied in with the colors from the artwork in the museum was to die for.

And as if the day couldn't get any more perfect..they ended their night dancing under the stars, surrounded by their closest friends and family. BUT, we can't forget the food truck and some super fun night photos. ;)
